Hello, I’m Kyrie, the proud owner of Rainbow Road Lactation. I am a Registered Nurse, Registered Midwife and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in Brisbane, Australia.
One of the great privileges I have in my life, is being able to support families through the beautiful journey of pregnancy and early parenting. With a young son of my own, I understand firsthand the joys and challenges that come with nurturing a growing family.
I have often heard the phrase “It takes a Village” or “Lean on your Village” for support in the postpartum and early parenting period. However it can be challenging in this day and age, to find a ‘Village’—people who support you and provide a sense of belonging.
During my postpartum period amid the pandemic and living several hours away from helpful family members, I had to seek different ways to find the support I needed. One of the most important sources of support I found, was finding healthcare providers that allowed me to feel heard and gave me confidence in my parenting abilities.
That is my vision for Rainbow Road Lactation – to be your cheerleader, a constant source of encouragement to follow your instincts as a parent. I hope to be able to join your ‘Village’ and provide support and guidance as you transition into parenthood, learn to nurture and nourish your baby, and be a shoulder to lean on in the more challenging times. My passion also lies in recognising and honouring the uniqueness of each family that I care for. I strive to provide inclusive, personalised care that is tailored to the values and needs of every mother, parent and family I work with.
My journey into becoming an IBCLC was deeply influenced by my own experiences. Early on, I encountered many breastfeeding challenges, including significant nipple damage in the first few weeks due to an unidentified tongue tie in my son. It was through the guidance of an experienced IBCLC and Osteopath that I found clarity and solutions. Additionally, navigating through postnatal depression and anxiety, torticollis and cow’s milk protein and soy protein allergies, further deepened my empathy and understanding for families facing similar obstacles. You can read about my breastfeeding journey here:
These experiences have fuelled my commitment to offering compassionate and comprehensive support to families during their feeding and early parenting journeys. At Rainbow Road Lactation, I aim to create a safe and nurturing space where families feel understood, supported, and empowered.

I am also dedicated to my professional development, and consider myself to be a lifelong learner, or a “Huge Nerd” (according to my friends and family – and I don’t disagree!). Below are a list of my current qualifications, courses I am currently working on and courses that I have completed. I also hold a current Basic Life Support and First Aid certificate.
